The monotype is a technique associated with printmaking. I use oil based typographic inks that I apply with rollers and spatulas on a transparent Plexiglas. When I consider the painting finished, I place the Plexiglas on the bed of the etching press. I lay down a sheet of acid free paper on the surface of the plate and with a good pressure, all the inks are transferred onto the paper and I obtain a reverse image. As the plate is not etched, I can only make a single print.
